🔥 Community Safety Message – Please Do Not Light Fires in Public Areas 🔥

1. What do we want the public to know?
Over the weekend, a fire was lit on a manhole cover outside the Linney toilet block. Whilst this may appear harmless, lighting fires in public places can cause damage to public infrastructure, create hazards for pedestrians, and increase the risk of more serious incidents.

With the current spell of warm, dry weather, even small fires can spread quickly and become difficult to control. This supports our local Community Safety priorities and the NPCC's ongoing focus on preventing anti-social behaviour and reducing fire-related risks in our communities.

2. How do we want the public to feel?
We want residents and visitors to feel reassured that your Safer Neighbourhood Team is aware of concerns affecting the area and is working with partners to help keep our public spaces safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.

3. What do we want the public to do?
Please do not light fires in public spaces and encourage others to act responsibly. If you witness anti-social behaviour, suspicious activity, or have information about incidents affecting your community, please report it through https://www.neighbourhoodmatters.co.uk.
